This community is a place for MeFites on Dreamwidth to congregate and communicate--if nothing else, this will let us point somebody to the community's reading page so they can see the journals of other MeFites.

Additionally, people with offsite blogs that have RSS/Atom feeds can request I add their blog to metafilter_hub to make them more discoverable to other mefites!

Hello hello! I have been on LJ for 18 years (!!) and just started writing here and crossposting there a few years ago. I tend to write about day to day stuff and (once the weather warms) I write about my garden a lot.

Why hello! I apparently got on LJ in 2003, ha, and ended up falling in with the crowd that ended up making DW after throwing the most spectacular snitfit about LJ starting to have ads on it. I haven't done much posting in years but I think I should start up again. And I know I really like DW and doing things that help encourage community on it is good for its health.

So, this journal was actually a port from LJ, I came here after some other Russian BS thing that happened there. That's where my bio (I should update that), and the website were imported from.

I do like the communities still, but I am also using journal as therapy here. Which I just updated after some seven odd months...

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I'm going to use this for, but I've decided to make a concerted effort to write something for a little while.

Probably yarn talk, tabletop RPG stuff, and maybe some out-of date media commentary.

This is such a great idea - I've been on DW since it began but love finding more connections to people.

(I am jenettsilver on MF after a name change earlier this year: glad to share the previous name somewhere that doesn't publically link to the above.)

My journal is mostly access locked, but that's so I can talk about my life without worrying about search engines connecting the me-as-librarian as the me-as-witch, with chronic health stuff. I also talk about research geekery, my fascinating job (no, seriously, I'm so lucky), generally process geekery, day to day documentation, and I host a weekly salon post which can be a good place to find people who know specific things or at least where to look for them more.

Periodically also yarn and books.

I was a Diaryland person, then Livejournal, and although I think things are still set up here to crosspost to LJ, I'm not over there anymore. Actually I haven't been over here except for one or two token postings over the years, but it feels right to be back and I hope I can get back into the habit of reading and writing.

I vaguely remember Diaryland though I didn't use it, went there and wow it still exists, good for them! I want to get back into the habit too, you can see on my profile right now that I haven't posted in quite some time, though I've been reading other people's journals almost every day.

Hello, hello (I'm only a week late). I'm, unsurprisingly, hoyland. I used to be reasonably active on LJ until about 2014 and keep thinking about trying to post here, but I've not actually done it.

(Also, I have a vague idea that Adam Baldwin turned out to be an awful person, but can't remember details. Someone please remind me. I may kill the Jayne icon anyway.)

I haven't used this account in years--I started it back when there was the aforementioned hullabaloo on LiveJournal, but haven't even opened Dreamwidth in years. I was kind of surprised that it was still active. (Pretty sure my LJ account is now officially defunct.)

I'm Superplin on Metafilter, btw. I'm here to see what becomes of the megathread diaspora. I've been a loyal reader all along but only actively contributed in the early mega days.
